Come join us on September 13th for our next community meeting, titled “Engaging Qualitative Methods into (LGBTQ+) Research Programs.”
In this facilitated discussion, we (Dr. Krystal Cashen and Dr. Rachel Farr) will discuss ways to effectively incorporate qualitative and/or mixed methods into a program of research, particularly research with LGBTQ+ populations given the SOGIE Caucus audience. Topics to be covered will include qualitative approaches and analyses, positionality (especially as LGBTQ+ researchers), managing qualitative coding teams, and publishing qualitative research. This workshop is intended for individuals with all levels of experience with qualitative methods. Attendees are also welcome to peruse the attached article (Levitt et al., 2018), which offers helpful information and context for conducting and reporting qualitative research, but reading in advance is not required.
